2011 Alumni Weekend Video Pitch Competition

The Entrepreneurial Studies Program of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics is sponsoring a video pitch contest to promote a new or existing business. The contest is open to current full time University of Delaware students, and the grand prize is $1,500.


Videos should be 30-60 seconds long, and entries will be accepted through May 29. Videos can be sent via UD DropBox to biz-plans@udel.edu or burned on a CD or flash drive and brought to room 236 in Lerner Hall.

Successful entries will address:

• The nature of the opportunity;
• Why it can be expected to succeed; and 
• Why the individual/team is well-suited to lead the development of the business or business concept. 

Entrepreneurial Studies faculty and staff will select finalist videos, which will then be judged by entrepreneurial alumni at the Innovation Celebration at the Venture Development Center on June 4 during Alumni Weekend.

Feeling Squrl -y?

YouTube playlists are great, but if you want to organize a playlist of videos from multiple websites you might want to give Squrl a try. Squrl allows you to create a playlist of videos from sixteen different sources. You can save videos to watch them later on your laptop, iPad, iPhone, or television.

Campus FILMfest

Campus FILMfest is the annual event hosted by Reel Productions Film Society (a student organization). The whole idea is that it is a place where student filmmakers on campus can have their movies viewed in a public setting. So, if you or anyone else at the Student Multimedia Design Center has a film you'd like to submit, feel free to e-mail to reelproductionsud@gmail.com. Or, if you'd like to stop by and watch some short films, feel free to stop by Trabant Theater, Thursday April 28 at 7 p.m.
