Google Art Project, which just recently launched in London, brings together seminal works from 17 world class museums, including New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and MoMa, all in one online interactive portal. When you go to Google Art Project, you can view closeups of paintings (some of which are so detailed you can even see hairline cracks), walk through the galleries, and see how all of the artwork is displayed. Think of it as street view for museums. In addition to exploring museums from around the world, according to the site you can also "create and share your own collection of masterpieces."
I really don't enjoy art museums- partially fueled by my lack of artistic talent.
