The introduction of this slideshow of images by U.S. military photographers states "These photos were chosen from thousands of entries and adhere to the same standards as photojournalism (meaning no posed or electronically manipulated images)."
Worth a look, this collection of images from the 2011 Military Photographer of the Year competition credits each photographer and his or her military branch but doesn't explain the scene. Some of the shots are technically interesting while others focus on very emotional subjects. With many of the action shots, one may puzzle over what technique the photographer used to capture it. Even without text, each tells a story. (Do still photos constitute "monomedia"?)

As Apple continues to produce new iPads, just releasing the third last week, it seems that Windows is finally ready to make a tablet of their own. Those that prefer Windows over Apple don't have an easy choice when it comes to tablets in today's market because although Droid tablets and the iPad are user friendly, if you're used to Windows, those products tend to be easier. According to CNN.com, Lenovo is likely to be the first to make the Windows 8 tablet. There are also speculations that Dell, HP, and Asus will be making the tablet as well. The iPad has been so dominant in the tablet market that it will be interesting to see the impact, if any, a Windows 8 tablet will have. The tablets are not expected to hit the stores until Fall 2012.

Prezi is an online presentation creator that allows you to zoom in on different text, videos, and pictures to make a truly different presentation. It's really simple to navigate and construct but looks really neat when you're done. I made THIS presentation in about 5 minutes! You don't have to be connected to the internet to use Prezi either so if you need to present where there is no wifi or internet you're still good to go just download it beforehand.
