May I tap your order?

At the Conshohocken Cafe, staffers key in orders on iPods and iPads linked to the kitchen through the cafe's WiFi network. The owners use their iPads to monitor the cafe from anywhere in the world- seeing which tables are turning over when, and monitoring the days best sellers. The owners set up the wireless system at Conshohocken Cafe this year, buying an app called POSLavu and installing it on small iPod Touch units and an iPad. After each dish is tapped onto the screen, the order is sent to a small printer in front of the cooks. Hostesses use a free app called NoWait to alert guests by text message that their table is ready. What a brilliant system... how can orders ever get mistaken??
