College radio becoming more multimedia oriented

Interesting NY Times article talking about how many college radio stations are using multimedia to varying degrees to draw in this generation. Some shows are basically becoming two-way multimedia experiences between DJs and listeners: "At stations like Fredonia’s, the goal is to transform themselves into the multimedia platforms they believe students with unprecedented tech appetites actually want, and it is changing the ethos, content and vibe of collegiate stations." Others quoted argue for the enduring place of traditional radio. On our campus, WVUD has a regular FM signal also available streaming and on iTunes, with an internet only station "The Basement" as well.
