Multimedia takes a big step... backwards?

Lomography, a retro style camera manufacturer, has just recently released a "new" video camera: the LomoKino.  It has a hand crank drive system and uses standard 35mm film to take a series of still frames (each occupying only part of a normal 35mm picture).

Gadget Lab listed the camera's primary specifications:
Specs-wise, the camera has a variable aperture that runs steplessly from ƒ5.6 to ƒ11. The shutter speed is 1/100sec, the frame rate is 3-5 fps and the lens is a fixed 25mm.
I suppose that it could be something that a true videographer might want to play around with, especially if he or she is trying to make something stylistic like The Blair Witch Project; however, I really hope that I am never asked to offer support for this camera!  It costs around $80, but they recommend the view be purchased with the camera for an additional $20...
