Hi All!
The other day at work I checked in a GoPro HD HERO3 (Black
Edition) Video Camera Kit for the first time (I’m new) and became fascinated
with the tiny device that has become famous for recording action footage since
its introduction to the market in 2004. From
free falling 24 miles from space to launching off a 50-foot tall jump on a
mountain bike, the GoPro’s arrival has changed the viewing of these action
experiences for good by encouraging people to try new things while recording.
The Hero 3 and 2 offered at the Student Multimedia Design
Center are tiny at 1.2 x 2.3 x 1.6 inches and weighing only 2.6 ounces. However, what makes the camera so popular is
that regardless of its size the GoPro camera images are of such professionalism
and high quality. The Center also offers
a variety of accessories that allow for the device to be attached to nearly
everything for user-friendly and easy recording. The camera is equipped with a waterproof casing
that can withstand depths of 195 feet.
The kit also includes a wi-fi remote, two quick-release mounts, one
curved adhesive mount, one flat adhesive mount and a 3-way pivot arm. However, these mounts are built with small
bolts that are susceptible to becoming loose and falling out. This actually happened to me the other day
while I was checking in one of the mounts.
After I had put the kit away, I found a bolt on the floor and it took a
while for the other staff members and I to figure out where it had come
from. So, friendly reminder to always
check the bolts in the mounts prior to checking in the kit to make sure they
are all there!
Anyway, I would definitely recommend checking out this
camera for people who want to document/record/share mountain biking, surfing,
bungee jumping, auto racing or whatever adventure you have in mind because the
GOPro Hero3 could be the perfect camera for you.

There is a booklet in the optional parts cabinet to use when the arms and mounts bags are loaned or returned to check all the parts. Use this manual as it is a big help in assessing all the parts. Good post Naomi!
