'Art and Science: Connections and Intersections' April 25

The first annual symposium at UD for the teaming of the visual arts and interdisciplinary sciences is taking place Friday, April 25th.  The location will be at the new ISE Lab and this year's theme is “Interpretation of Images, Objects, and Data.” It seems to me that this program is drawing on the symbiotic relationship between science and engineering and creative and visual arts in today's modern world.  Speakers and workshops with backgrounds in both art and technology will take place with an emphasis on using visual images to display data and transfer knowledge.

It is certainly an interesting topic and it is exciting to see these two separate fields come closer and closer as we move toward the future of multimedia and design.  This combination of creative arts and interdisciplinary sciences is very much the balance we work with here at the center.  I can imagine some of our Art/ Visual Communications and related majors as well as our Computer Scientists/ Engineers and related majors may be interested.
